WPEngine has been my go-to client website hosting solution for more than three years and I am very satisfied with them. Their support is terrific and their features and developer tools are terrific. They have been extremely reliable.

To test this, we ran the Load Impact test on SiteGround servers. During this test, we gradually increased to 100 unique visitors to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.

One of the reasons Bluehost have been a long time favorite in WordPress community is that they make it very easy to signup. Provisioning is instant 24/7 and they have partnered with Mojo Marketplace to make installation generally painless. Though we do agree with other reviewers that Mojo can be confusing compared to the usual Cpanel installers.

Signing up with InMotion was very easy and provisioning instant, meaning we were able to get up and running immediately without waiting for any kind of manual review of our order. Like all plans based on Cpanel the installation of WordPress itself was super easy, requiring basic information and a few clicks.

As we mentioned at the top of the article, managed WordPress hosting really is the way to go unless you’re bringing considerable server-level expertise to the table. All eight hosting providers surveyed performed admirably in their respective ways.

DreamHost has been around for 18 years, and is known for making web hosting easy. You get custom dashboard, 1-click WordPress install, automatic WordPress updates, unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth and free SSDs which makes your site 200% faster. Hey, thanks very much for this great resource. Any plans to add other hosts to the review? Specifically, I’ve had Westhost recommended to me and I’d love to see how they stack up compared to the hosts you cover here. Cheers.

A web host, quite simply, allows you to rent space on a web server. Your web pages are then stored on this server, and the host computer allows other people connected to the Internet to view them. There are literally hundreds of web hosting companies to choose from. How t…

If you’re a large company and looking for truly enterprise level service, then we recommend using Liquid Web or WP Engine. Both offer outstanding service, but Liquid Web is famous for their heroic support.

But, this leaves us with another issue. If your website is hosted with GoDaddy, but your email is not, your website contact forms will not arrive to your inbox. This is because GoDaddy will not allow you to define an external SMTP server for sending messages from the website. It always tries to send to an address on its own server. I’ve tried numerous DNS Zone entries including A records for the mail server, MX records and even SPF records with no success. Also tried WordPress plugins to define SMTP. Again, this is deal-breaker.

In our detailed HostGator review, we also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing. After our analysis, we find HostGator to be a great option for growing businesses because they offer plans that grow with your business.

I’ve done enough research on HostGator and Bluehost and I can’t agree with your recommendation, not only for the fact that they were swallowed by the EIG. As well as their mediocre support, Bluehost in particular is too expensive for what little they offer.

DreamHost offers instant provisioning which we like, but doesn’t use the commonly used Cpanel, instead providing their own control panel software. If you are familiar with Cpanel this will require a bit of a learning curve, but it isn’t complicated. DreamHost do provide an installer so getting WordPress setup was easy and painless.

If you’ve visited this page before you might notice some changes to our recommended hosts. This is the result of our latest round of testing completed early October 2017. Thanks to some big improvements in performance and consistently good support GreenGeeks have been promoted to the top of our recommended list. Bluehost and Hostgator also remain in our top 3 due to their undeniably strong performance metrics in our very comprehensive testing (more on this below).

While Bluehost is cheap, they do not compromise on the quality of their service. Granted, they’re not the best, but they’re definitely the best web hosting company in the category of budget web hosts.

I guess my reply din’t post so I’ll give it one more try – I never said I distrust GD, I said they are not a company to be mentioned in any serious discussion about hosting because their platform is sub par to say the least. Maybe there is a GD spy lurking who had my reply removed so if you are not reading this, then it will further prove my point because only a sub par service would go to great lengths to quite unfavorable comments

“Word Press engine” is long hand for ‘WP Engine’ which is the largest and best known managed WordPress hosting provider. Based in Austin, Texas, WP Engine were one of the earliest to recognize the accelerating demand for specialist WordPress hosting services and support.

Next, we ran the Load Impact test on SiteGround servers where we gradually built up to 100 unique visitors at once to see how their server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.

When we used Media Temple, I always thought their customer support was quite good. It was a bit annoying having to remember a PIN to call them, and they didn’t have live chat, but problems were generally solved quite swiftly.

Considering iPage has the cheapest starting price of all the hosts in our review we remain very impressed by their technical performance and ability to handle a lot of users all at once. In our October 2017 round of testing the average user load time in the Load Impact test started out at about 1.7 seconds which isn’t especially fast, but it quickly dropped to <800MS. We guess that iPage does some network caching of pages and resources, and once that kicked in the site didn't slow down all the way up to 100 concurrent virtual users. And at the same time there were no server request failures either. iPage are the fastest WordPress host in our test based on the average Load Impact load time of 0.599 seconds. This is offset however by relatively poor performance according to Pingdom (see below). One of the oldest web hosts started in 1996, Bluehost has become the largest brand name when it comes to WordPress hosting. They are an official ‘WordPress’ recommended hosting provider. With Bluehost, you never have to worry about your website being slow even when there is a lot of traffic. Their 24/7 expert support is always there to help when you need it by phone, email, or live chat. They are rated #1 in web hosting for small businesses. On top of that, they are offering WPBeginner users exclusive 50% off discount, a free Domain, free SSL, free CDN, security firewall, staging sites, and other dev tools. If you use your services consistently with the Terms of Service and these paragraphs, your site can grow as large as necessary to meet your small business needs, but to ensure a great experience for all, we will place some constraints on how fast you can grow. The vast majority of our customers' sites grow at rates well within our rules, but our abuse controls may cause a brief delay while we evaluate if expansion is appropriate.
