These folks are all about the co-lo and dedicated server offerings. They operate 22 data centers in the United States, in eight locations. Co-location is the practice of running your own machines out of a provider’s data center. It’s a great solution for enterprises and larger site operators.

I agree with some of what you said. I believe the only real WordPress host or whoso would ever recommend to a friend if they said you know of any good WordPress hosts? would be WP engine I am hosting my site right now it’s lightning fast on it outstanding support and if you’re paying $50 or more for a host as you are with host gator you should clearly look at how little $50 extra dollars a month is for your business and put it on the pro plan on WP engine if you can’t stomach paying that use Zippy kid you get very similar hosting to WP engine a content delivery network and 100,000 viewers a month for $24 And $5 more a month for every additional hundred thousand unique visitors. Now if you want VPS WebSynthesis is the only way to go for real WordPress hosting with a for only $25 a month now please remember there’s no reason you need a VPS if you’re using managed WordPress host. Last but not least I would recommend page.ly they are able to offer quite a bit and those are the only hosts I would ever recommend to my friend if they asked me about WordPress. Your girlfriends website gets half 1 million hits a month and you put her on nickel and dime hosting why? Does this site not generate enough money to have a decent host I find that hard to believe if it’s really getting half million hits a month.

You should also familiarize yourself with the many web hosting tiers that are available. In your research, you’ll find shared, virtual private server (VPS), dedicated hosting, and WordPress hosting plans. Each tier offers different specs and features that you should take the time to analyze. I’ll break them down.

People use websites for all kinds of things, and exactly what you want to do will dictate what kind of web hosting you need. In addition to the types of web hosting we covered in the previous section, which can generally be used for many different types of websites, there are specialty options that cater to a specific subset of users. We will cover these options below.

We offer both Windows and Linux hosting. Which one you need depends on what you want to do with your site, like whether you want to create a shopping cart, host a podcast, or add a blog. If you’re not sure if you need Windows or Linux, you can always call  GoDaddy hosting support team. We’re here to help 24/7.

Web Hosting is designed to serve the web hosting needs of small, independently owned and operated businesses in the United States. It is not appropriate to use our services to support large enterprises or internationally based businesses with a sustained demand that places undue burden on our systems or negatively impacts use by small, independently owned and operated businesses.

Cloud-based hosting is great because it’s more efficient and secure than other hosting methods. These cloud systems protect your site against attacks better than traditional hosting systems because all the resources of multiple servers are in one virtual network.

Whether you are a seasoned Internet pro, or just starting out with your first website, our professional staff is here to assist you every step of the way. We are here 24/7/365 to assist you with any aspect of your hosting experience. Allow us the opportunity to exceed your expectations.

I would not recommend WP Engine if: You’re a beginner looking to host a low-traffic / side-project website (it’s probably overkill for that – save your money and use Bluehost instead). Obviously, if you’re not using WordPress this isn’t going to be right for you.

While 22 of the 27 on our shortlist had 24/7 support, we decided to call up all of the top web hosting companies that made it through to our final cut, to see how long we were kept on hold – and whether the support teams were helpful or not.

The amount of traffic your website can handle really depends on the WordPress hosting plan that you’re on. Most shared hosting plans can comfortably handle 1000 to 2000 visitors per day as long as your website is optimized for performance.

The whole sign-up process with WP Engine is very straightforward, and I’m only mentioning it here because getting WordPress installed is an integral part of that initial sign-up. In other words, you don’t need to do any WordPress installing on your own, the WP Engine team takes care of that for you.

Our support team has advanced WordPress expertise and can be reached 24/7. With virtually no wait time on chat and phone and around 10 minutes for the first response in our ticketing system, we consistently achieve nearly 100% customer satisfaction rates.

I know what you are after when you seek to find a hosting company: it’s accurate information. But it’s a fact that all bloggers who evaluate web hosting companies are bound to be subjective up to a point. I can tell you bluntly that I like these companies and I am making an honest recommendation for you.

Hey Marcus, It’s the best guide I have ever seen so far. Especially, I loved the way you distinguish your recommendations for Small Businesses/ Blogs/ Portfolios and for High-traffic Sites. Few years back, I had been using one of the top 4 web hosts you mentioned here, and they were excellent for years. Then out of nowhere EIG came into picture, and it ruined everything from support to server performance. Another thing, if you see the prices of the top 4 web hosts, you will notice that most of the plans have approximately the same price. So, IMHO price should not be the concern while choosing a web host. I would choose a web host on the basis of availability and quality of support.

Easily roll your application back to a previous version. This means if your updated application breaks any critical plugins or theme layout, you can quickly and easily roll your installation back to the previous working version.

This is unfortunate because, these days, owning a website is becoming a crucial part of running a successful business, and more and more folks are establishing a web presence for their personal brand as well. You can use hosting to sell online, store and share your portfolio, or even publish your freelance writing samples and resumé. Yet, even the basics — What is web hosting? — can be lost on the average web user.

I recently moved my email and websites to GoDaddy. I have contacted support on several occasions due to my lack of knowledge of Outlook 365 and Managed WordPress. Both chat and phone support were able to resolve my issues quickly.
