If you’re not sure of the type of hosting your business needs, you might want to start small, with shared Web hosting. You can always graduate to a more robust, feature-rich package of, say, VPS hosting or even dedicated hosting in the future. Unfortunately, some hosts don’t offer all hosting types. Consider how much you expect to grow your website, and how soon, before you commit to anything longer than a one-year plan. It’s worth spending the time up front to make sure that the host you select with is able to provide the growth you envision for your site, as switching web hosting providers midstream is not a trivial undertaking.
Bluehost has been on the official WordPress hosting page for many years and offer some pretty specialized options for the platform these days and include support for the handy site management tool ManageWP. Their managed WordPress hosting packages range from $24.99 to $169.99 per month depending on traffic and number of sites hosted.
This option is ideal for enterprise websites concerned with privacy and security, e-commerce sites with a large inventory, and for others that want the ability to manage the entire backend of their website and its server’s configuration and settings.
Shopping for server hosting providers is difficult at best and confusing at the least. It’s even more of a challenge when you don’t know what questions to ask. Certain features are nice to have, while others can impact the credibility of your website, and ultimately, your business.

I am about to head off on an amazing holiday overseas & wish to keep a blog to email to family & friends of all the highlights & experiences of our trip. WordPress was recommended by a friend who has a blog through you. I just wanted to double check that what I set up will be free, that I will be able to email I write & that I can do all this from the Macbook Air (running Mac OSX 10.9.5) that we will take with us? Thanks.
That said, there is a good chance you’ll have at least one or two needs that can’t be met by free plugins, or you just want some paid support, so you should expect to spend around $100 per year on premium plugins.

As your online business grows, your Web hosting needs will increase and become more complex. Free and inexpensive web hosting plans may have been fine in the startup phase of your online business, but if your website is starting to feel sluggish as it continues to grow and you get more website traffic, you may need to start looking at beefing up your Web server.
To test this, we ran the Load Impact test on SiteGround servers. During this test, we gradually increased to 100 unique visitors to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.

We’d like to stress that none of the WordPress hosting providers here failed any test. The overall standard was refreshingly high. Furthermore, all providers also offer a full range of more advanced hosting options if you start to outgrow the entry-level packages.
Yes, for some reason Bluehost is know as standard, plus there are so many how-to guides / articles promoting them, even though, they have more negative reviews than positive. I also noticed a strange thing, pretty much anyone who writes an how to start a blog guide (like we did last week), tend to mention BlueHost.
I’m gonna cut to the chase: You need a blog. The world is changing and moving on without you, and it’s time you had a platform of your own to share your message. The best and easiest way to launch a self-hosted blog is with WordPress.
We also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing in our detailed Bluehost review. After this thorough analysis, we believe that Bluehost is a great managed WordPress hosting provider for any kind of website.
Bluehost’s performance was lackluster. As traffic increased so did response time, almost following the same steep climb. Even at lower user counts the response time jumped around quite a bit, ranging anywhere from 1 to 3.5 seconds with only 10 active users. As Bluehost approached the 20 user mark load times skyrocketed to over 10 seconds. They did come back down, but performance was still highly inconsistent with huge variances from one second to the next.
Once we accessed our accounts, we tested the dashboard of each service. The standard interface is called the cPanel, while some services, like iPage, use their own control panel, which allows for more customization. We evaluated which tools are available in the basic shared hosting plans, taking into account features like simple email creation, a disk-usage meter and access to create cron jobs. Many services in our lineup have the option to back up a site manually or utilize a one-click install section.
I am not tech savvy and I am searching for a WordPress server in order to be an Affiliate. My main concern is, if I want to relocate, I don’t want the host to take over my site. I was with Hostgator a couple years ago, and decided to move due to the poor customer service. They declared that they were the owner, even though I was paying separately for the domain name. (I checked back later and found that they had taken over my site, domain and all!)

Below we cover the best hosts for the job.
I lead a Web Agency. We are using Siteground since many years to host all the websites of our customer on VPS Servers. We also test in past, Bluehost, Icertified, Mavenhosting and really siteground is far above all for many reasons. But the main reason, in my opinion, is the in-house security policy they adopt to protect their infrastructure. Siteground is not the most cheaper if you go for VPS or ddicated Server but the value they give worth the price. Congrats Siteground, you are doing a good job !!!
